    Dragonfly First setup

    🔌 1. First Start & Connection

    To set up your Cave Slime trackers (SlimeVR compatible) with the open-source software SlimeVR, connect the included receiver to your PC, making sure it has good coverage and is not blocked by anything (you can use USB extension cables). Once connected, make sure your trackers are on by pressing the side button. Crucial note: Make sure to connect your auxiliary units into the main units only when they are powered off.

    • ✅ Quick press (2x): Calibrate sensor ZRO
    • ✅ Quick press (3x): Reset active pairing
    • ✅ Hold (~1s): Power off; keep holding ~5s to cancel

    💻 2. Software Assignment

    Once you see all your hardware in the UI, open up the open-source software SlimeVR and start allocating the units to their positions. Select the location and tap the Cave Slime tracker (SlimeVR compatible) you want to use (it does not matter which tracker or orientation you use).

    • ✅ Do this with all of your tracking units.
    • ✅ If you do not see the hardware, please check your connection and channel settings.

    ⚙️ 3. Mechanics & Gestures

    These settings depend on your personal style, but I have found that smoothing works best in the open-source software SlimeVR settings under tracker mechanics. Move over to tracking settings right below it and enable Skating correction to 20%.

    • ✅ Gesture control: Trigger resets by tapping a tracker.
    • ✅ I disable shortcuts because high-energy or jumping movements can turn on unwanted recalibration.

    🥋 4. Straps & Calibration

    Start grabbing the straps and put on your Cave Slime trackers (SlimeVR compatible) following the recommended body placement diagram. After that, launch SteamVR, put on your VR headset while still standing straight, and perform a mounting calibration.

    • ✅ Keep your posture straight and stable during the mounting calibration.

    📏 5. Perfecting Body Proportions

    I highly recommend doing a full manual body proportions setup. Head over to body proportions in the software, select manual proportions, and use the automatic fine-tune button to calibrate using a short dance routine.

    • ✅ TIP: Keep VRChat open on the calibration screen while fine-tuning sliders so you can check alignment visually.

    🎮 6. VRChat & Maintaining Alignment

    In VRChat, make sure to enable "Legacy Calibration" under your tracking and IK settings. Once this is all done, do a full reset and make sure to enable "Stay Aligned" in the open-source software SlimeVR to keep your movements centered.

    • ✅ If your body is yawing a lot, perform a quick Yaw reset.
